Kokeri Theme is a sound for reel which is requested to showcase Ellyhan Jewelry newest collection titled "Kokeri". The collection is inspired by Papuan folklore, Kokeri (utopia), about a person who was exiled by his tribe and received a gift from God in the form of a sacred shining stone. The stone is able to bring its owner to explore the deepest depths of his soul to find peace in accordance with his reflection.
The client requested me to create a soundtrack specifically based on a traditional Papuan instrument called Pikon. Here is a preview of what the instrument sounds like.
After listening to the sample for a while, I realised the melody resulted from the instrument is chromatic. I played around with synthesizer and realised the melody sounds good as this bold, cyberpunk-y lead so I went with it. I just added a sub-bass, a riser, and a few drum samples in popular midtempo pattern.
